Description
This shade is popularly used for the `grisaille` painting technique. The painting would first be composed in grey and white and then the shades, made with thin transparent glazes, would be applied over it. The grisaille beneath provides shading that`s visible through the layers. If left uncovered, the grisaille gives the appearance of carved stone.
