This deeper variety of Cadmium Yellow is the most permanent. Metallic Cadmium was discovered in 1817 by Friedrich Stromeyer but its production was delayed until 1840 due to the scarcity of metal. Cadmium is one of the main components used to create bright and intense pigments in red, yellow, and brown hues.
