Description
Raw Sienna is one of the earth pigments used by ancient man to paint on cave walls. Similar to the Yellow Ochres, but with more red tones (and less red than Burnt Sienna), it’s an extremely permanent, inorganic earth pigment of low intensity, but medium-high tinting strength. An absolute must-have for landscape painters.
Daniel Smith Extra Fine Gouache is professional artist-grade water media paint that produces an opaque matte finish. Extra Fine Gouache is made with the same high-quality pigments and gum arabic as Daniel Smith Extra Fine Watercolors. Gouache is uniquely formulated with higher pigment loads to achieve density and opacity without adding whites or other fillers. Gouache has exceptional lightfastness and pure, natural opacity with a full range of staining and lifting qualities. Gouache rewets, dilutes, and cleans up easily with water.
Gouache can be applied as mass tone straight from the tube to get rich, full-bodied solids with single brush strokes or can be tempered with water to create softer lines and hazy layers. Mix and blend new shades to customize your palette. Use gouache to accent your watercolor paintings with velvety shadows or bold pops of color.
